Notebird vs Tithely

Notebird is the better fit for a care team that needs searchable private care notes, follow-up tasks, milestone reminders, and a shared activity feed. Tithely Church Management fits a church that wants one system for giving, people records, kids check-in, messaging, and service planning at a flat $72 a month. Many churches run Notebird beside Tithely.

Notebird vs Tithely at a glance

Bottom line: Notebird gives a care team a shared, private, searchable record of care: notes the whole team can read, keyword search across old notes, tasks with owners, milestone reminders, a team feed, and a daily Early Bird email, and it runs beside your ChMS. Tithely Church Management is a solid all-in-one system for church admin, with people, giving, check-in, messaging, and service planning at one flat price, but its notes are not searchable, private notes are visible only to their author, and there is no care team feed. Choose Notebird for care; choose Tithely for the whole church office.

Tithely profile Notes are dated and can be marked private, but Tithely says they cannot be searched or reported on and only the author can edit them.

YesPartial
Private (restricted) notes with permission control

Which one should you pick?

Why churches choose Notebird

  • Your care team needs to search old care notes by keyword. Tithely notes cannot be searched or reported on.
  • You want private notes a whole care team can see, not only the person who wrote them.
  • You use Planning Center, Breeze, or Church Windows and want a care layer that syncs with it.
  • You want a team activity feed and a daily Early Bird email of who needs attention.
  • You track baptisms, anniversaries, and custom milestones and want reminders before they arrive.
  • Volunteers and lay ministers should see only the people and groups assigned to them.

When Tithely may fit better

  • You want giving, people records, check-in, messaging, and service planning in one login instead of several tools.
  • You want a flat monthly price with unlimited staff users, so adding volunteers never raises the bill.
  • Your church already runs Breeze. Tithely Church Management is the same product under a new name, so nothing changes for you.
  • You need automated visitor follow-up. Follow Up options and progressions can assign the next task when the last one is done.
  • You want donor records and people profiles in the same database so giving history shows on each profile.

"Notebird has been a "game changer" for our ministry! Prior to Notebird, we wrote a weekly synopsis of each congregant our ministry had served and sent it to the ministry team along with assignments for that week. New team members had no long history - and they were quick to point that out. Once we got Notebird, all that changed. Notebird has been part of our ministry for exactly one year and I still hear "Thank heavens we have Notebird!""

"I'd get excited about keeping up with excel and logging everything and then after a week or two that would stop because it wasn't easy. I use Notebird daily and love it!"

Notebird vs Tithely: common questions

Is Tithely Church Management the same as Breeze?
Yes. Breeze ChMS was renamed Tithely Church Management in November 2025 and joined the Tithely platform, called Tithely 3.0. New customers start on Tithely 3.0 and existing Breeze churches are moved over in phases. Tithely says existing pricing and data stay the same.
Does Tithely have pastoral care features?
Tithely Church Management has profile Notes for care calls and visits, Follow Ups you can assign to staff or volunteers with a due date, and workflows that can flag people for follow-up. It does not have a care team activity feed, and its notes cannot be searched or reported on inside the app.
Can I use Tithely to track pastoral visits?
Yes, in a basic way. A pastor can add a dated note to a person's profile after a visit and mark it private. The limits are that only the author can edit a note, private notes are hidden from everyone but the author, and you cannot search notes or run a report on them. Notes can be exported to Excel.
What is the difference between Notebird and Tithely?
Tithely Church Management is a full church management system: people database, giving, kids check-in, messaging, and service planning. Notebird is pastoral care software only: care notes, private notes, follow-up tasks, milestones, a team feed, and care reports. Notebird does not do giving, check-in, or accounting, so most churches run it next to a ChMS.
Is Notebird cheaper than Tithely?
It depends on team size. Tithely Church Management is a flat $72/month for unlimited users. Notebird is per user: $12/month for one user, then $8, $6, and $4 for each additional user, with a discount for annual billing. A small care team on Notebird usually costs less than $72; a large team can cost more. The two tools also do different jobs.
Can Notebird sync with Tithely?
Notebird has a direct two-way sync with Breeze, which is now called Tithely Church Management. Names, phones, emails, birthdays, anniversaries, households, campus, and status sync between the two. Breeze lists Notebird in its Extensions directory. If your church started on Tithely 3.0 rather than a Breeze account, check with Notebird support that the sync is available for your account.
Does Tithely have private notes?
Yes, but private means private to the author. Marking a note private in Tithely Church Management hides it from every other user, even those with permission to view notes. If you want notes that a small care team can see but other staff cannot, Tithely suggests building custom profile fields and setting role permissions on those fields.
Is Tithely Church Management the same as Elvanto?
No. Elvanto is a separate church management system that Tithely also owns. Tithely Church Management is the former Breeze ChMS. This page compares Notebird with Tithely Church Management.
